Dwitiya pervades sunrise kaal on more than one day (2030-07-01 100%, 2030-07-02 100%) — tithi-vriddhi. The day is decided by pervasion of the rite's own kaal, not by which day holds more of the tithi — “ह्रासवृद्धी न कारणम्”. This is darpa, and Vyaghra gives darpa to the later day: “खर्वेदर्पौ परौ पूज्यौ”. Suryodaya-vyapini: the tithi prevailing at sunrise governs the day, which is the general rule for vrats where no special kaal applies. Dharma Sindhu confirms it: “द्वितीया शुक्लपक्षे परविद्धा ग्राह्या” — Dwitiya in the bright fortnight is taken para-viddha.
