Trikaal Sandesh — Direct Answer

Vivah muhurat 2027: Trikaal Vaani lists 35 strictly shubh wedding dates, from 15 January to 9 December 2027. Weddings pause during Kharmas, Holashtak, Shukra Ast, Guru Ast and Chaturmas (13 July to 9 November), so mid-year has no dates. Use the dated list first, then match a date to your own kundali.

Deep Dive Analysis

Vivah Muhurat 2027 in One Minute

The 2027 wedding calendar on Trikaal Vaani lists 35 strictly shubh vivah muhurats, running from 15 January to 9 December 2027, spread over eight active months. Marriage is paused in Kharmas, Holashtak, Shukra Ast, Guru Ast and Chaturmas, which is why the middle of the year is empty. This page explains every blocked window, every rule behind the dates and how to pick one for your own family. The full dated list, with nakshatra, tithi and lagna for each day, is on our Vivah Muhurat 2027 page, and you can match any date to your own chart with the free Shubh Muhurat calculator.

What a Vivah Muhurat Actually Is

A vivah muhurat is the chosen window in which the wedding ritual begins, selected so that the day, the moon, the rising sign and the planets are all in clean condition at once. Classical Muhurta texts treat marriage as a long-lasting sanskar, so the standard is stricter than for a routine errand. Muhurta Chintamani opens its marriage chapter by saying that a wife's good conduct supports the three aims of life and is shaped by the lagna of the wedding, which is why the time of marriage is weighed with care. A good muhurat does not rewrite the two kundlis. It only makes sure the start of the marriage is not damaged by a poor day. For the chart side, see our guide to marriage yogas in a kundli.

Vivah Muhurat 2027: The Calendar at a Glance

Here is the whole year in one view. January has 3 dates, February 5, March 5, April 5, May 3, June 3, November 8 and December 3, which adds up to 35. July, August, September and October have none, the first half of January is closed, and nothing is listed after 9 December. If you were hoping for a wedding in the middle of the year, this is the single most important fact to plan around. Early planning matters because the November cluster is the busiest stretch, with venues and caterers booked months ahead. The dates themselves are listed on the 2027 muhurat page, and the same layout for the previous year sits on the 2026 page for comparison.

Blocked Window 1: Kharmas from 1 to 14 January

Kharmas is the month when the Sun transits Dhanu (Sagittarius) or Meena (Pisces), and traditional practice pauses weddings and other sanskars during it. In 2027 the first Kharmas continues from December 2026 and ends when the Sun enters Makara on 14 January, which is why the first wedding date is Friday 15 January, with Revati nakshatra and Saptami tithi. The three January dates are 15, 18 and 20 January, and the 18th, a Monday with Rohini nakshatra, has a Vrishchika lagna window, which is a fixed sign and considered sturdy. Use the Panchang page to see the Sun's current sign on any day.

Blocked Window 2: Holashtak from 14 to 21 March

Holashtak is the eight-day stretch before Holi, and weddings are traditionally avoided in it because the period is treated as unsettled for new beginnings. Our 2027 list marks it as 14 to 21 March and gives no wedding date in those days. This is one of the shorter closures, but it sits inside a busy early-spring stretch, so families who already hold a date in the first half of March should note that the last clean dates before the window are 1, 3, 4, 10 and 11 March. Kharmas then begins on 15 March, in the middle of Holashtak, so the calendar stays closed for a longer run. The wider rules are summarised in our panchang and choghadiya guide.

Blocked Window 3: Kharmas in Meena from 15 March to 14 April

The second Kharmas of 2027 runs while the Sun is in Meena, from 15 March to 14 April. The Sun enters Meena on the morning of 15 March and leaves it for Mesha on 14 April, so the first clean date after it is Friday 16 April. This is the reason March ends with no dates after the 11th and April starts late. Many families wonder whether the Meena Kharmas is as strict as the Dhanu one, and the traditional answer is that both are treated alike for vivah. If a family tradition differs, speak with your family priest before booking. You can also read how the Sun's movement shapes timing in our 2027 lucky dates and panchang yoga guide.

Blocked Window 4: Shukra Ast from 7 July to 17 September

Shukra Ast is the period when Venus is combust, meaning too close to the Sun to be treated as fully active. Venus is the natural significator of marriage, romance and comfort, so weddings are paused while it is weak in the sky. In 2027 Venus is combust from 7 July to 17 September, which covers more than ten weeks. Strict panchang practice refuses vivah muhurat in this window, though some sites relax it, which is one reason their lists look longer than ours. To understand how Venus works in a personal chart, read about Shukra antardasha and marriage yoga and the chart-wide view in our Venus transit 2026 guide.

Blocked Window 5: Chaturmas from 13 July to 9 November

Chaturmas is the four-month period of Lord Vishnu's rest, running from Devshayani Ekadashi to Devuthani Ekadashi. In 2027 Ekadashi begins on 13 July at midday and holds at sunrise on Wednesday 14 July, and the closing Ekadashi falls on Wednesday 10 November. Weddings are not held in this stretch, so our calendar has no dates between 13 July and 9 November, and the first date after it is 10 November. If you are new to the Ekadashi count, our Ekadashi vrat guide explains how the tithi is read, and the guide on finding today's tithi shows the method.

Blocked Window 6: Guru Ast from 17 August to 14 September

Guru Ast is when Jupiter is combust. Jupiter is the planet of blessings, elders and, for women, of the husband, so classical practice avoids starting a marriage while it is hidden by the Sun. In 2027 this window runs from 17 August to 14 September. It falls entirely inside Chaturmas and Shukra Ast, so it removes no extra dates in 2027, but it is still worth knowing because in other years it can close an otherwise open month. For how Jupiter shows up in your own chart, see the explainer on Jupiter and Pitra dosh and the wider view of the planet in Guru mahadasha.

Blocked Window 7: Kharmas from 17 to 31 December

The year closes with another Kharmas. The Sun enters Dhanu on the afternoon of 16 December, and our list treats 17 to 31 December as closed. The last wedding date of the year is Thursday 9 December, with Revati nakshatra and Ekadashi tithi, in a Mesha lagna window. Families who miss the November and early December dates have no further option in 2027 and will need to look to the next year, which opens again after the January Kharmas. The next year's list is on the 2028 page, and the long view of upcoming years starts from the Vivah Muhurat hub.

Why July to October Are Empty, and What Families Do

Four months of silence can feel alarming when a family wants a date, but the pattern is old and the planning is simple. Families usually settle the match, hold the roka or sagai in the open months, and fix the wedding for November or the following spring. If you need a ceremony inside the closed window for practical reasons, speak with a trusted priest about what is permitted, because registration, engagement and the legal marriage have different rules from the vivah sanskar itself. Our marriage registration muhurat tool and the sagai muhurat calculator handle those separate steps.

Month-by-Month Wedding Dates for 2027

January: 15 (Fri), 18 (Mon), 20 (Wed). February: 1 (Mon), 3 (Wed), 10 (Wed), 11 (Thu), 22 (Mon). March: 1 (Mon), 3 (Wed), 4 (Thu), 10 (Wed), 11 (Thu). April: 16 (Fri), 21 (Wed), 22 (Thu), 23 (Fri), 28 (Wed). May: 7 (Fri), 24 (Mon), 31 (Mon). June: 10 (Thu), 16 (Wed), 21 (Mon). November: 10 (Wed), 11 (Thu), 12 (Fri), 15 (Mon), 24 (Wed), 25 (Thu), 26 (Fri), 29 (Mon). December: 2 (Thu), 8 (Wed), 9 (Thu). Every date falls on a Monday, Wednesday, Thursday or Friday. Check the exact muhurat time, nakshatra and lagna for each day on the live 2027 list, because the clean hours within a date can be short.

The Eleven Nakshatras Allowed for Marriage

Marriage uses a shortlist of eleven nakshatras: Rohini, Mrigashira, Magha, Uttara Phalguni, Hasta, Swati, Anuradha, Mula, Uttara Ashadha, Uttara Bhadrapada and Revati. These are the stars the tradition treats as gentle and supportive for a lasting bond. A wedding date whose Moon is in any other nakshatra is dropped, however pleasant the day looks. In 2027 the dates fall in these stars, for example Revati on 15 January and 9 December, Rohini on 18 January, Mrigashira on 20 January, Anuradha on 1 February and Mula on 3 February. Read more about the individual stars in our nakshatra guide and the page on Uttara Bhadrapada nakshatra.

Tithi and Weekday: What Shuddha Means

A clean tithi excludes the rikta tithis (4th, 9th and 14th) and Amavasya, and prefers the gentler lunar days. The listed dates show a spread such as Saptami on 15 January, Ekadashi on 18 January and Trayodashi on 20 January. For weekdays, the favoured days are Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, while Tuesday, Saturday and Sunday are traditionally avoided for vivah. Every one of the 35 dates falls on a favoured weekday. If you want to understand how a tithi is worked out from the Moon and Sun, our guide to tithi explains the 30 lunar days, and the free Shubh Muhurat calculator applies these filters automatically.

Bhadra and Forbidden Yogas

Bhadra, also called Vishti karana, is a period inside certain tithis when new beginnings are avoided, and a wedding must not start within it. Alongside Bhadra, classical muhurat also avoids certain unfavourable yogas of the day. Our 2027 dates are chosen so that the auspicious nakshatra and tithi actually overlap during clean hours, without Bhadra, and a day is rejected if the clean window disappears. This is the main reason a date that looks good on a printed calendar can still fail. The principle is described in our guide on Bhadra and Raksha Bandhan muhurat, which shows the same check on a festival day.

Lagna: Why Sthira Is Preferred and Chara Is Weaker

The lagna is the rising sign at the moment the ritual starts. For marriage, fixed (sthira) signs such as Vrishabha, Simha, Vrishchika and Kumbha are preferred because fixity is associated with a lasting bond. Dwiswabhava (dual) signs are called good, and movable (chara) signs are weaker. Of the 35 dates, 12 have a best sthira lagna window. Examples are 18 January with Vrishchika and 3 February with Vrishabha, while 15 January is a Meena (dual) window and 20 January a Mesha (chara) window. A weaker lagna does not cancel the date, but a sthira one gives more comfort. To learn how to find a rising sign, see how to find your lagna.

Chandra, Guru and Surya Shuddhi: What Muhurta Chintamani Says

Muhurta Chintamani states that Jupiter's purity (Guru shuddhi) is the test for the bride, the Sun's purity (Ravi shuddhi) is the test for the groom, and the Moon's purity (Chandra shuddhi) is the test for both when a marriage is fixed [1]. This is the old logic behind checking Guru Ast, the Sun's sign and the Moon's position together. It also explains why our list is built around Guru and Shukra windows, the Sun's sign and the Moon's nakshatra rather than one factor alone. A date chosen only by nakshatra, ignoring the Moon's strength, is incomplete. To see how strong your own Moon and Jupiter are, use the free kundali strength calculator.

The Sun-Sign Rule for Marriage Months

The same chapter of Muhurta Chintamani lists the Sun signs in which marriage is held fit: Gemini, Aquarius, Capricorn, Scorpio, Taurus and Aries, with further month-level allowances in the verse [2]. This is why spring and winter months with the Sun in these signs appear in the 2027 calendar and the Sun's passage through Pisces and Sagittarius closes them. This is the classical logic behind Kharmas. It also shows that wedding season has an astronomical logic and is not a marketing calendar. You can read how the Sun's sign changes through the year in the panchang page, and a plain-language explanation of the Sun in the zodiac in our rashi guide.

The Jyeshtha Caution

Muhurta Chintamani calls a wedding with two Jyeshtha factors a middling choice and says three Jyeshtha factors together are never fit [3]. In practice, commentators usually count the eldest child on each side and the Jyeshtha month as the three factors, so families where both partners are eldest children are advised to take care in that month. This is a case where the family details matter more than the calendar, so tell your priest who is the eldest on each side before you lock a date. If the matter is unclear, a personalised muhurat from your date of birth can account for it, and our Manglik myths explained shows how a separate chart condition is handled.

The Six-Month Family Rule

The same text advises that a daughter's marriage should not be held within six months of a son's marriage in the same family [4]. Families with two weddings in the same year often forget this and then struggle to place both dates, especially in 2027 when only eight months are open. If two weddings are planned, put the first in the early months, such as February to April, and the second in November, which satisfies the gap and avoids the crowded December dates. Not every family follows this rule strictly, and regional customs vary, so confirm what your priest follows. The Kundali Milan service can be run for each couple in the meantime.

General Muhurat Versus Your Personal Muhurat

The dates on our 2027 page are general shuddha muhurats, the same for everyone. They tell you which days are clean in the panchang. They do not know your birth nakshatra, rashi or dasha. A personalised muhurat adds Tara bala and Chandra bala for the bride and groom, and keeps only the dates that are comfortable for both. This is why two couples can pick different dates from the same list. Use the general list to know the safe days, then run the personal check. Our guide on vivah muhurat by date of birth explains the process, and the free Shubh Muhurat calculator lets you run it yourself.

Tara Bala and Chandra Bala in Simple Words

Tara bala asks whether the day's nakshatra is friendly to your birth nakshatra, counted in a cycle of nine. Chandra bala asks whether the Moon on the wedding day sits in a helpful house from your birth Moon sign. Both are checked for the bride and the groom. A date can be clean in the panchang yet fail one of these tests for a particular person, which is when a different date from the same month is chosen. These checks are quick for software and slow by hand. To know your own birth star and Moon sign first, use the free nakshatra calculator and the free rashi calculator.

Manglik and Kundali Milan Come Before the Date

Choosing the date is the last step, not the first. Before fixing a muhurat, most families check Kundali Milan for guna points and test for Manglik dosha, because a muhurat does not change a natal condition. A good date cannot remove Mangal dosha, and a Manglik match is judged on the two charts together. Read our guide on Manglik and non-Manglik marriage and what to do in I am Manglik: what to do, then check your own chart with the free Manglik dosh calculator. If the match is positive, you can move to dates with confidence.

The November Cluster: Eight Dates in One Month

November 2027 is the busiest month, with eight dates: 10, 11, 12, 15, 24, 25, 26 and 29 November. The first four follow Devuthani Ekadashi and the last four sit near the end of the month, so there is a two-week gap in between. Because the whole country resumes weddings on the same few days, demand is heavy and prices rise early. If a November date suits your family, book the venue and priest well in advance and keep a second date as a fallback. The earlier dates in February to April are quieter. For other auspicious days of the year, see our 2027 lucky dates guide.

Planning Backwards From the Date

A simple plan works well. First, check kundali matching and Manglik status. Second, shortlist two or three dates from the general list that suit both families' calendars. Third, run the personal muhurat check for the bride and groom. Fourth, confirm the exact muhurat time with your priest, since clean hours inside a date can be short. Fifth, book venue and caterer. Sixth, keep one backup date. This order saves money because it avoids booking before the stars are checked. If you need help in the middle, the marriage astrologer online page explains how a consultation works, and the Kundali Milan service covers the matching step.

Common Mistakes Families Make

The most common mistake is booking the venue first and asking about the muhurat later. The second is copying a date from a list that ignores Shukra Ast or rikta tithis. The third is checking only the nakshatra and not the lagna or the clean hours. The fourth is ignoring the eldest-child and six-month family rules. The fifth is assuming a muhurat can neutralise a Manglik or other natal condition, when it only selects a clean time. The sixth is panic when a preferred month is closed. Closed months are normal and planned around. For more on timing delays that are unrelated to the calendar, see why the 7th house causes marriage delay.

If Your Date Is Not Perfect: A Simple Upay

If a date is acceptable but not ideal, for instance a chara lagna, you do not need an expensive ritual, and a simple blessing is enough. What: a short Ganesh puja with both families. When: the morning of the wedding or the Wednesday before it. How: offer durva and a sweet to Ganesha, light a lamp and ask elders to bless the couple. How long: once, about 20 minutes. Caution: do not buy costly dosh-nivaran packages from anyone, because the date is chosen by rules and not repaired by purchase. The same gentle spirit applies to chart-based concerns, which you can explore in kaal sarp dosh and marriage.

Why Our List Is Shorter Than Other Websites

Many sites publish 60 or more marriage dates a year by relaxing the rules, for instance ignoring Shukra Ast, allowing rikta tithis or overlooking Bhadra. Our list excludes every Kharmas, Adhik Maas, Chaturmas and combustion window, and rejects any day where the auspicious nakshatra and tithi do not overlap in clean hours. The calculations run on a self-hosted Swiss Ephemeris engine with the Lahiri ayanamsa. The result is smaller but defensible, a list a careful family astrologer would approve. If you need more options than the 35 dates, a personalised check will tell you which borderline days are acceptable for your chart, and why. See how the free muhurat tool works.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the vivah muhurat dates in 2027?

Trikaal Vaani lists 35 strictly shubh vivah muhurats for 2027, from 15 January to 9 December. The months are January (3 dates), February (5), March (5), April (5), May (3), June (3), November (8) and December (3). The full list with nakshatra, tithi and lagna is on the Vivah Muhurat 2027 page.

Why are there no wedding dates from July to October 2027?

Those months fall inside Chaturmas, the period from Devshayani to Devuthani Ekadashi, from 13 July to 9 November 2027. Shukra Ast (7 July to 17 September) and Guru Ast (17 August to 14 September) fall within the same stretch, so traditional practice gives no vivah muhurat in them.

When does Kharmas fall in 2027?

Kharmas occurs when the Sun is in Dhanu or Meena. In 2027 it covers 1 to 14 January, 15 March to 14 April, and 17 to 31 December. Weddings and other sanskars are paused in these windows.

What is the first and last wedding date of 2027?

The first date is Friday 15 January, with Revati nakshatra and Saptami tithi. The last is Thursday 9 December, with Revati nakshatra and Ekadashi tithi. After 9 December the year closes with Kharmas.

Which month has the most wedding dates in 2027?

November has the most, with eight dates: 10, 11, 12, 15, 24, 25, 26 and 29 November. It is also the busiest month for venues, so early booking helps.

Which nakshatras are allowed for marriage?

Eleven: Rohini, Mrigashira, Magha, Uttara Phalguni, Hasta, Swati, Anuradha, Mula, Uttara Ashadha, Uttara Bhadrapada and Revati. A date whose Moon is in another nakshatra is dropped.

Which weekdays are best for a wedding?

Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday are favoured, and Tuesday, Saturday and Sunday are traditionally avoided. All 35 dates for 2027 fall on a favoured weekday.

Is the general muhurat list the same as my personal muhurat?

No. The general list shows clean days for everyone. A personal muhurat also checks Tara bala and Chandra bala for the bride and groom. Use the free Shubh Muhurat calculator to run that check for your own birth details.

Can a good muhurat remove Manglik dosha?

No. Mangal dosha is a natal condition, and a muhurat only selects a clean time to begin the marriage. Check Manglik status and Kundali Milan before fixing a date.

Can I hold a sagai or registration during Chaturmas?

The rules for engagement and registration differ from those of the vivah sanskar, so ask your priest. Our separate sagai and marriage registration muhurat tools handle those steps. The wedding ritual itself is not held in Chaturmas.

Why does Trikaal Vaani show fewer dates than other websites?

The list follows a strict standard. It excludes Kharmas, Adhik Maas, Chaturmas, Shukra Ast and Guru Ast, avoids rikta tithis and Bhadra, and requires the nakshatra and tithi to overlap during clean hours.

What does Muhurta Chintamani say about marriage timing?

It says that Jupiter's purity matters for the bride, the Sun's for the groom and the Moon's for both, lists Sun signs fit for marriage, calls two Jyeshtha factors middling and three never fit, and advises a six-month gap between a son's and a daughter's wedding in one family.
