Trikaal Sandesh — Direct Answer

January 2027 has three vivah muhurat windows for Delhi in the Trikaal Vaani panchang engine: Friday 15 January from 7:10 AM to 2:15 PM, Monday 18 January from 9:09 PM (inside Bhadra), and Wednesday 20 January from 7:08 AM to 4:18 PM. Kharmas ends on 14 January at 9:10 PM, when the Sun enters Makar.

Deep Dive Analysis

January 2027 Vivah Muhurat in One Minute

The Trikaal Vaani panchang engine lists three vivah muhurat windows for Delhi in January 2027. Friday 15 January runs from 7:10 AM to 2:15 PM with the Moon in Revati. Monday 18 January runs from 9:09 PM to 7:09 AM with the Moon in Rohini, but almost all of that night sits inside Bhadra, so read that section before you book. Wednesday 20 January runs from 7:08 AM to 4:18 PM with the Moon in Mrigashira. All three come after Kharmas ends on 14 January. Use the free Shubh Muhurat Calculator to test your own city.

Why January Opens the Wedding Season Again

Between 16 December 2026 and 14 January 2027 the Sun is in Dhanu, the period called Kharmas, when families traditionally pause weddings. The Sun enters Makar on 14 January 2027 at 9:10 PM IST, so the first full day after Kharmas is Friday 15 January. Read the December 2026 vivah muhurat page to see how the last pre-Kharmas dates fell, and the Makar Sankranti 2027 guide for the Sankranti day itself.

January 2027 Shubh Vivah Dates at a Glance

15 January, Friday: 7:10 AM to 2:15 PM, Revati, Saptami, Meen lagna. 18 January, Monday: 9:09 PM to 7:09 AM, Rohini, Ekadashi, Tula lagna. 20 January, Wednesday: 7:08 AM to 4:18 PM, Mrigashira, Trayodashi, Mesh lagna. Timings are for Delhi from the Trikaal Vaani Jyotish panchang engine. A wedding in another city shifts the window, see the city section below. For the full-year list, open Vivah Muhurat 2027 and the 2027 wedding dates guide.

15 January 2027 Vivah Muhurat (Friday)

Friday 15 January 2027 gives the longest daytime window of the month, from 7:10 AM to 2:15 PM. The Moon is in Revati, one of the nakshatras named for marriage in the classical list [1], and the tithi is Saptami. The lagna is Meen, a dual (dwiswabhava) sign that the engine rates as good. The Vishti (Bhadra) karana begins around 2:14 PM, right at the end of the window, so plan the main pheras well before noon. Check the daily panchang for Rahu Kaal on the day.

18 January 2027 Vivah Muhurat (Monday Night)

Monday 18 January runs from 9:09 PM to 7:09 AM on 19 January. The Moon is in Rohini, a nakshatra named in the classical marriage list [1], the tithi is Ekadashi and the lagna is Tula, a movable (chara) sign that the engine rates as weak. Here is the honest caution: the Vishti (Bhadra) karana runs from about 9:13 PM on 18 January to about 7:50 AM on 19 January, so almost the entire window lies inside Bhadra. The classical rule asks us to avoid Vishti karana [2]. The engine list does not exclude it, so discuss this date with your family pandit before booking anything.

20 January 2027 Vivah Muhurat (Wednesday)

Wednesday 20 January runs from 7:08 AM to 4:18 PM. The Moon is in Mrigashira, another nakshatra from the classical list [1], and the tithi is Trayodashi. The lagna is Mesh, a movable sign that the engine rates as weak. The karana is clean through the whole window: Kaulava until about 2:59 PM, then Taitila. This is the one fully Bhadra-free window of the month, since 15 January touches Bhadra only in its last minute. Compare it with your own kundli before you decide.

Which of the Three Dates Suits You

Choose 15 January if you want a daytime wedding with a good-quality lagna. Choose 20 January if you want a midweek daytime date with a clean karana. Treat 18 January as a late-night option only after you have discussed Bhadra with your pandit. Whichever date you pick, match it to the couple first. Run the Kundali matching guide and check the Manglik Dosh Calculator before you fix the hall. If the two families disagree on a date, return to the classical filters shown above and decide which rule each family follows, rather than arguing about the calendar itself. A calm, written shortlist of two dates saves weeks of discussion.

How the Trikaal Vaani Engine Chooses These Dates

The engine reads the Swiss Ephemeris with the Lahiri ayanamsa and the mean Rahu, then tests every day for nakshatra, tithi, yoga, karana and lagna rules drawn from the classical muhurat texts. A date reaches the list only if it passes the full combination, and the result is then shown for a chosen city. That is why a general calendar may show more dates than we do. We prefer a shorter list that we can explain over a longer list that we cannot. Read how a panchang is built in the daily panchang and the tithi guide, and see the 2027 lucky dates and yoga guide for the wider year.

Why Revati, Rohini and Mrigashira Matter

The classical wedding rule in Brihat Samhita names the Moon nakshatras fit for marriage: Rohini, the three Uttaras, Revati, Mrigashira, Mula, Anuradha, Magha, Hasta and Swati [1]. All three January dates fall on a nakshatra from that list, which is why they reach the engine output at all. Nakshatra is only one filter, though. Tithi, yoga, karana and lagna must also pass. For a plain-language tour of the 27 stars, see the nakshatra guide and the free Nakshatra Calculator.

Kharmas Ends on 14 January: What That Means

Kharmas is the month-long stretch when the Sun transits Dhanu. In 2026-27 it runs from 16 December 2026 at 10:25 AM to 14 January 2027 at 9:10 PM IST. Families who observe it avoid weddings, griha pravesh and similar new beginnings during this window, which is why December 2026 has so few dates and why 15 January is the first morning of the revived season. Makar Sankranti rituals follow the Sun entry, and the Makar Sankranti astrology guide explains the planetary meaning.

Pausha Month: Two Classical Views

The three January dates fall in the lunar month Pausha. Brihat Samhita lists Pausha among the months to leave out of wedding timing [2], while Muhurta Chintamani says marriage is acceptable even in Kartika, Pausha and Madhu when the Sun is in Vrischika, Makar or Mesha [3]. In mid-January the Sun is in Makar, so the Muhurta Chintamani reading supports these dates. Traditions differ across families and regions, so confirm with the pandit who follows your kul parampara. We state both views openly rather than hide one.

What to Avoid Even on a Shubh Date

Brihat Samhita asks us to set aside the Vyatipata and Vaidhriti yoga days, the Vishti (Bhadra) karana and Rikta tithis [2]. A good nakshatra does not cancel these. This is why we show the karana for each January window and flag the one that sits in Bhadra. If your pandit prefers a stricter filter than the engine, you may drop 18 January and keep the other two. Learn how a tithi is found in the tithi guide.

Bhadra Explained in Plain Language

Bhadra is the name used for the Vishti karana, one of the 11 karanas, each lasting half a tithi. Vishti recurs through the lunar month and is traditionally considered unfit for starting auspicious work. Its start and end change every cycle, so you cannot memorise a weekday rule. For 18 January the Vishti span is from about 9:13 PM to 7:50 AM, almost matching the wedding window. For 15 and 20 January it is outside the window, except the final minute on 15 January.

Lagna Quality: Sthira, Dwiswabhava and Chara

The engine rates lagna by sign type. Fixed (sthira) signs are the strongest for a long marriage, dual (dwiswabhava) signs are good, and movable (chara) signs are weak. On 15 January the lagna is Meen, which is dual and good. On 18 January it is Tula and on 20 January it is Mesh, both movable and weak. This gives 15 January an edge on lagna, and 20 January an edge on karana. Learn what the rising sign means in the ascendant guide and check yours with the Lagna Calculator.

Why 26 and 29 January Are Not on the List

Some calendars show 26 and 29 January as wedding dates. On 26 January the Moon is in Uttara Phalguni in Krishna Panchami, and on 29 January it is in Swati in Krishna Ashtami. Both nakshatras are in the classical list, yet neither date passes the full filter combination used by the engine. We do not claim a single reason, and we do not invent one. If your family pandit has a separate almanac that accepts either date, discuss it with him and compare it with the three dates above.

Putrada Ekadashi and the 18 to 20 January Dates

Ekadashi tithi runs from 10:28 AM on 18 January to 7:50 AM on 19 January in Delhi, and Putrada Ekadashi is observed on 19 January 2027. Many families fast on Ekadashi, so a wedding night on 18 January overlaps a vrat day. That is a family choice and not a classical prohibition we can cite, so we leave the decision to you. Read when Putrada Ekadashi falls for the parana timing, and the Ekadashi calendar for every other 2027 date.

Why Your City Changes the Window

All timings above are for Delhi. Sunrise, lagna and the moment a tithi or karana changes depend on latitude and longitude, so a window in Mumbai, Kolkata, Bengaluru or London will start and end at different clock times. A date can even drop out of the list for another city. Use the Shubh Muhurat Calculator for your own place, and open the Vivah Muhurat page to compare cities month by month. For overseas weddings, give your pandit the local city and time zone.

Match Kundalis Before You Fix a Date

A muhurat is the stage, but the kundali match decides whether the two people suit each other. Check guna score, Nadi, Bhakoot and Manglik status before you book. Our Kundali matching service and the guide to 36 guna milan show what each score means, and matching by birth date works even when exact birth time is unknown. Read about Bhakoot dosh and Nadi dosh remedies if the report flags them.

Manglik Couples and the January Dates

If one partner is Manglik, the date matters less than the match. Mars placement, its strength and the partner chart decide the effect, and a low score is rarely a verdict on its own. Use the Manglik Dosh Calculator and read Mangal dosh and marriage compatibility, then Manglik vivah muhurat in 2026 for timing notes. Practical upay are in Mangal dosh remedies. Remedies are calm and affordable, never fear-based.

Jupiter in Simha During the January Dates

On 15, 18 and 20 January 2027 Jupiter is in Simha and in retrograde motion, having turned vakri on 13 December 2026. It moves into Kark on 25 January 2027 still retrograde. Jupiter is the karaka of marriage for women and is read with the seventh house for everyone. Check where it sits in your own chart rather than relying on a general rule. The Planet strength calculator shows each graha at a glance, and the planets guide explains their roles.

Dasha Period and Marriage Timing

A shubh muhurat does not replace a supportive dasha. The running mahadasha and antardasha show whether the chart is ready for a marriage event now, and the free Dasha Calculator gives your sequence in seconds. If you are still asking when marriage will happen, try the Shadi Kab Hogi Calculator and read what age will I get married. Delay has many causes, see why is my marriage delayed.

Booking Timeline: Halls, Pandits and Vendors

With only three muhurat windows in the month, demand for halls, pandits, caterers and photographers is likely to concentrate on them, so book early. A sensible order is: confirm the kundali match, pick the date with your pandit, book the venue, then book the pandit and the rest. Keep a written backup date in February. Keep a buffer for family travel as well. The wedding guide for 2027 lists simple steps for choosing the date in the first place.

Winter Planning for January Weddings

Delhi and North India are cold in January and mornings are often foggy, which matters for a 7:10 AM or 7:08 AM start. Plan heating for an open mandap, warm clothes for guests, and extra travel time for the baraat. If you choose the late-night window of 18 January, arrange safe transport home for elders. A pandit-led ceremony can be shortened for comfort without breaking the main rituals, so ask in advance rather than on the day.

Engagement and Roka Before a January Wedding

Roka, tilak and engagement can be fixed on a separate shubh day, and many families do them in the weeks after Kharmas. Pick those days with the same care you give the wedding date: check nakshatra, tithi and the karana in the daily panchang. If the families are still deciding, read how to choose a wedding date in 2027 and the guide on chat mangni pat vivah upay for quick-wedding timing.

If None of the Three Dates Works for You

February 2027 has more options in the engine list for Delhi: 10 February from 3:10 AM to 6:55 AM (Dhanu lagna), 11 February from 6:54 AM running into the early hours of the next day (Kark lagna), and 22 February from 12:00 PM to 5:00 AM (Kanya lagna). March has further dates on 1, 3, 4, 10 and 11 March. Confirm each with your own city and kundli before you plan. See Vivah muhurat 2027 for the year view, and Vivah, Mundan and Namkaran muhurat 2026-27 for related ceremonies.

January Versus February: Which Month to Choose

January gives fewer dates but arrives right after Kharmas and suits families who want an early start to the year. February gives more choice and milder weather, but it is further from Makar Sankranti and may need a longer booking runway. The practical test is simple: choose the month in which both families, the pandit and the key relatives are free, and where the kundali match is strong. A good chart match on a slightly less convenient date usually serves a family better than a perfect date on a weak match.

The religious muhurat and the legal registration are separate steps. You may register on any working day that your local registrar offers, and the ceremony date does not have to match it. Check the document list with the registrar of your district, because requirements differ by state. If a partner lives abroad, read about foreign spouse prediction and plan paperwork early. We give timing guidance only and not legal advice.

After the Wedding: Griha Pravesh and First Rituals

After the wedding, the new home and the bride entry ritual follow. If you plan a housewarming for the couple, check Griha Pravesh shubh muhurat separately, because a good wedding date does not automatically make a good griha pravesh date. Note also that Tulsi Vivah is a different festival, see Tulsi Vivah 2026 vidhi and muhurat, and not a substitute for the wedding date.

Common Mistakes Families Make With January Dates

Mistake one is booking a hall before checking the kundali match. Mistake two is copying a date from a general calendar without checking the city. Mistake three is ignoring Bhadra because the nakshatra looks good. Mistake four is assuming a rule applies in every tradition when it does not. Mistake five is waiting too long and finding the three windows taken. Avoid these by using one verified source, then confirming with your pandit. Read the second marriage possibility guide if it applies to you.

Free Tools to Check Your Date

Book Personal Guidance for Your Wedding Muhurat

A calculator gives you the engine output, but your chart, your families and your city make the final decision. For a personal check, book a consultation through the Trikaal Vaani services page, where Rohiit Gupta reviews the match, the dasha and the muhurat together. Book once the date is shortlisted. The first step is free: run the calculator, note your two best dates, and bring them to the call.

For Delhi the Trikaal Vaani panchang engine lists Friday 15 January from 7:10 AM to 2:15 PM, Monday 18 January from 9:09 PM to 7:09 AM, and Wednesday 20 January from 7:08 AM to 4:18 PM. Check your own city before you plan.

When does Kharmas end in 2027?

Kharmas ends when the Sun leaves Dhanu and enters Makar, on 14 January 2027 at 9:10 PM IST. The first full day after it is Friday 15 January.

Is 18 January 2027 a safe wedding date?

The Moon is in Rohini and the date is on the engine list, but almost the whole night window lies inside the Vishti (Bhadra) karana, which the classical rule asks us to avoid. Discuss it with your pandit before booking.

Which January 2027 date is free of Bhadra?

Wednesday 20 January is free of Bhadra for the whole window, with Kaulava and then Taitila karana. Friday 15 January is free until the last minute, when Vishti begins at about 2:14 PM.

Is Pausha month bad for marriage?

Views differ. Brihat Samhita lists Pausha among months to leave out, while Muhurta Chintamani allows marriage in Pausha when the Sun is in Makar, Vrischika or Mesha. Follow the tradition of your family pandit.

Why are 26 and 29 January not listed?

Both have nakshatras from the classical list, but neither passes the full filter combination of the engine. We do not state a single reason, so ask your pandit if your almanac accepts them.

Do these dates work for cities outside Delhi?

Not always. Sunrise, lagna and tithi timings change with location, so a window can shift or drop out. Use the Shubh Muhurat Calculator for your city.

Can a Manglik couple marry on these dates?

Manglik status depends on Mars placement and the partner chart, not only on the date. Check the match first, then the date. Remedies are calm and affordable.

What are the February 2027 wedding dates?

For Delhi the engine lists 10 February from 3:10 AM to 6:55 AM, 11 February from 6:54 AM, and 22 February from 12:00 PM. March has 1, 3, 4, 10 and 11 March. Confirm with your own kundli.

Should I check the kundali match before the muhurat?

Yes. The muhurat sets the time, but the guna, Nadi and Manglik match decide whether the pair suits each other. Match first, then fix the date.
