Trikaal Sandesh — Direct Answer

Your lucky day in Vedic astrology is a day when four things match your own chart: the weekday lord is friendly to your Moon-sign lord, the tithi is supportive, and the Moon's nakshatra and sign are kind to your birth star and Moon sign (tarabala and chandrabala). Find yours with the [Lucky Day Calculator](/calculators/free-lucky-day-calculator).

Deep Dive Analysis

Which Day Is Lucky for Me? The Short Answer

Your lucky day is the day on which four things line up with your own chart: the weekday lord is friendly to the lord of your Moon sign, the tithi is of a supportive kind, the Moon's nakshatra sits in a kind tara from your birth nakshatra (tarabala), and the Moon passes through a supportive house counted from your Moon sign (chandrabala). No single weekday is lucky for everyone. Start by finding your Moon sign in the free Rashi Calculator and your birth star in the free Nakshatra Calculator, then let the Lucky Day Calculator match them to the calendar. The sections below show the method, so you can sanity-check any result you are given.

What Lucky Day Means in Vedic Astrology

Vedic texts rarely use the English word luck. They speak of shubh (supportive) and ashubh (needing care) conditions, which the panchang reads from five limbs: tithi, vaar, nakshatra, yoga and karana. You can see today's values on the Trikaal Vaani Panchang and learn to read them in our Panchang and Choghadiya guide. Brihat Samhita, for instance, sorts every tithi into five named groups and asks that work be matched to the group.[1] A lucky day is therefore a tilt in your favour, not a guarantee: it lowers friction for a task you have already prepared, and it never replaces the preparation itself.

Lucky Day vs Muhurat: Personal Fit and Event Timing

A muhurat answers one question: when should this particular event begin, such as a wedding, a vehicle delivery or a first day at work. A lucky day answers a wider and more personal one: which days of the week and month tend to run in my favour. Use the lucky day for routine choices, like starting a habit, having a difficult conversation or signing a small deal. For a big event, go to the Shubh Muhurat Calculator guide or the free Shubh Muhurat Calculator, which also screens the chart of the person involved. Event guides such as gold purchase muhurat and job joining muhurat go deeper on each occasion.

The Five Layers of a Personal Lucky Day

Think of a lucky day as five layers. Vaar (weekday), tithi and nakshatra are the same for everybody on a given date, so they become personal only when matched with your chart. Tarabala and chandrabala are born personal, because they are counted from your own birth nakshatra and Moon sign. Muhurta Chintamani already speaks of the Moon's strength being reckoned through tarabala.[15] A day that passes on three or four layers is a good day for you; a day that passes on only one is ordinary. Because you rarely get all five, the aim is to avoid stacking weak layers on the day of an important step.

What You Need: Moon Sign, Birth Nakshatra and Birth Weekday

Three facts are enough for the first pass. Your janma rashi (Moon sign) comes from the Rashi Calculator and is explained in our Moon sign guide. Your janma nakshatra comes from the Nakshatra Calculator; the nakshatra guide and the birth star explainer help you read it. Your birth weekday you can look up from the date. If you have the exact birth time, the Janam Kundali Calculator gives all three at once. A birth time that is off by hours can shift the nakshatra, so check birth time accuracy if your record is doubtful.

Vaar Adhipati: The Seven Day-Lords

Each weekday belongs to a planet, its vaar adhipati: Sunday to the Sun (Ravi), Monday to the Moon (Soma), Tuesday to Mars (Mangala), Wednesday to Mercury (Budha), Thursday to Jupiter (Guru), Friday to Venus (Shukra) and Saturday to Saturn (Shani). The day takes on the temperament of its lord, so Tuesday feels energetic and Thursday expansive. This is why the same weekday can feel supportive to one person and heavy to another: your chart already has a relationship with that planet. For a refresher on the nine planets, read the Navagraha guide or the graha guide to the kundli.

How Day-Lord Friendship Decides Your Weekday

The practical test is friendship between the day-lord and the lord of your Moon sign. We read it from the sign-lord's side: how does the lord of your Moon sign regard the day-lord? Parashari tradition first lists natural friends and enemies, then adds temporary friendship by position, and the two combine: friend in both is an adhimitra, friend with neutral stays a friend, and enemy with neutral stays an enemy.[17] Where friendship and enmity meet the planet is neutral, and where it is an enemy in both it becomes an adhishatru, so the astrologer weighs everything before judging.[18] Friendship is also not symmetrical: Mars treats Saturn as neutral while Saturn treats Mars as an enemy. A hostile day-lord is a reason for care, not alarm, and the weekday guides below give each a way out. Planet condition matters too; see planetary dignity.

Your Birth Weekday (Janma Vaar): How Much Does It Count

Many people are told that the weekday they were born on is their lucky day. As a personal anchor it is reasonable, because the day-lord was the planet of that day at your first breath. It is not a rule that overrides the rest of the chart. If your birth weekday agrees with the friendship test for your Moon sign, treat it as a double signal; if it disagrees, trust the Moon-sign test first and keep the birth weekday for sentimental occasions such as birthdays and fresh starts that feel personal. The exact birth weekday also depends on the correct time and place, which is why the Lagna Calculator and your birth record should agree.

Sunday (Ravivar) Lucky Day: Sun as Day-Lord

Sunday suits tasks that need visibility and authority: applications to officials, health check-ups, leadership conversations and anything you want to be seen doing. The Sun is a natural friend of the Moon, Mars and Jupiter, so Sunday is supportive for Leo (own), Cancer, Aries, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Pisces and, through Mercury's friendship, Gemini and Virgo. It needs care for Taurus, Libra, Capricorn and Aquarius Moon signs, because Venus and Saturn are enemies of the Sun. For them, Sunday is still usable for routine work; keep big signatures for a better-matched day, and offer water to the rising Sun as shown in the remedy section.

Monday (Somvar) Lucky Day: Moon as Day-Lord

Monday favours the mind, family matters, travel by water, food, public dealing and anything needing public goodwill. The Sun, Mars and Jupiter regard the Moon as a friend, so Monday is supportive for Cancer (own), Leo, Aries, Scorpio, Sagittarius and Pisces. Mercury, Venus and Saturn regard the Moon as an enemy, so Mondays can feel emotionally tiring for Gemini and Virgo, Taurus and Libra, and Capricorn and Aquarius Moon signs. That feeling softens if the Moon in your own chart is strong, which you can check in the Graha Bal Calculator; a simple water offering is listed in the remedies.

Tuesday (Mangalvar) Lucky Day: Mars as Day-Lord

Tuesday rewards courage, physical effort, property visits, sport, repairs and decisive action. The Sun and Jupiter regard Mars as a friend, so Tuesday supports Aries and Scorpio (own), Leo, Sagittarius and Pisces. The Moon, Mercury and Venus regard Mars as neutral, so it is neutral for Cancer, Gemini, Virgo, Taurus and Libra, and it needs care for Capricorn and Aquarius, since Saturn counts Mars as an enemy. Care here means checking the temper: argue less, sign less, and channel the energy into exercise or cleaning. If you are unsure how Mars stands in your chart, the Weak Planet Finder shows whether it is weak, and how to find a weak planet explains the signs.

Wednesday (Budhvar) Lucky Day: Mercury as Day-Lord

Wednesday suits study, writing, accounts, trade, short journeys, negotiations and learning a skill. The Moon, Venus and Saturn regard Mercury as a friend, so Wednesday is supportive for Gemini and Virgo (own), Cancer, Taurus, Libra, Capricorn and Aquarius. The Sun regards Mercury as neutral, so it is neutral for Leo. Mars and Jupiter regard Mercury as an enemy, so it needs care for Aries, Scorpio, Sagittarius and Pisces. For those four signs it remains a good day for paperwork, reading and cleaning up records; avoid rushing contracts, and read every line twice. Interview-minded readers can pair this with the interview muhurat guide.

Thursday (Guruvar) Lucky Day: Jupiter as Day-Lord

Thursday favours learning, teachers, mentors, children, advice, ceremonies and long-term plans. The Sun and Mars regard Jupiter as a friend, so Thursday is supportive for Sagittarius and Pisces (own), Leo, Aries and Scorpio. The Moon, Mercury, Venus and Saturn regard Jupiter as neutral, so Thursday is neutral for Cancer, Gemini, Virgo, Taurus, Libra, Capricorn and Aquarius. Because it is rarely hostile to any Moon sign, Thursday is the safest all-round day to begin something you intend to keep. If your Jupiter is weak in the chart, add a small act of learning on that day rather than a heavy ritual, as the remedies suggest.

Friday (Shukravar) Lucky Day: Venus as Day-Lord

Friday supports relationships, art, comfort, shopping for pleasure, beauty, music and agreements built on goodwill. Mercury and Saturn regard Venus as a friend, so Friday suits Taurus and Libra (own), Gemini, Virgo, Capricorn and Aquarius. The Sun and Jupiter regard Venus as an enemy, so Friday needs care for Leo, Sagittarius and Pisces. The Moon and Mars regard Venus as neutral, so Cancer, Aries and Scorpio are neutral. On a care Friday, keep spending and promises modest instead of cancelling plans, and do your important purchases on a better-matched day; if you are comparing days for a large purchase, the gold purchase muhurat and vehicle purchase muhurat guides apply.

Saturday (Shanivar) Lucky Day: Saturn as Day-Lord

Saturday is not an unlucky day; it is a day of discipline, and it rewards patience, routine work, service, long projects, land and tasks that last. Saturn is a friend of Mercury and Venus, an enemy of the Sun, Moon and Mars, and neutral to Jupiter. Friendship is judged from your sign-lord side, so Saturday supports Capricorn and Aquarius (own) and Taurus and Libra, whose lord Venus counts Saturn a friend. It is neutral for Gemini, Virgo, Cancer, Aries, Scorpio, Sagittarius and Pisces, and needs care for Leo. If a Saturday feels heavy, shorten the to-do list and finish one hard task, which is exactly what Saturn asks for. People under Saturn's transit can check their phase in the Sade Sati Calculator.

Mesh and Vrishchik Moon Signs (Mars): Lucky Weekday

If your Moon sign is Aries or Scorpio, your sign-lord is Mars. Tuesday is your own day. The Sun, Moon and Jupiter are Mars's friends, so Sunday, Monday and Thursday are supportive too. Mercury is Mars's enemy, so Wednesday is the day for care: fine for study and paperwork, less so for arguments or hurried deals. Friday and Saturday are neutral. Your best days are therefore Tuesday and Thursday, with Sunday as a strong third. Because Scorpio and Aries differ in Moon nakshatra, a final check with the Lucky Day Calculator is worth the thirty seconds.

Vrishabh and Tula Moon Signs (Venus): Lucky Weekday

For Taurus and Libra Moon signs the sign-lord is Venus, so Friday is your own day. Mercury is Venus's friend and Saturn too, so Wednesday and Saturday support you. The Sun and Moon are Venus's enemies, so Sunday and Monday are the days for care, which means those days suit routine rather than new commitments. Tuesday and Thursday are neutral. Your best combination is Friday plus Wednesday, with Saturday good for long, quiet projects. Pairing the weekday with a supportive tithi matters more for you than for most, which the tithi sections below explain.

Mithun and Kanya Moon Signs (Mercury): Lucky Weekday

Gemini and Virgo Moon signs are ruled by Mercury, so Wednesday is your own day. The Sun and Venus are Mercury's friends: Sunday and Friday both support you. The Moon is Mercury's enemy, so Monday is the day for care, a good day for rest, family and routine but a poor one for deadlines. Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday are neutral. Your strongest days are Wednesday and Friday, and Sunday works well for public work. If you are comparing Mercury's strength before a big exam, the Kundali Strength Calculator helps.

Kark Moon Sign (Moon): Lucky Weekday

Cancer is ruled by the Moon, so Monday is your own day. The Sun and Mercury are the Moon's friends, which makes Sunday and Wednesday supportive. The Moon has no natural enemies, so no weekday is hostile for Cancer; Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday are neutral. That makes you flexible, and it also means your outcome depends more than most on the Moon's actual condition and on chandrabala, because your own Moon sign is the base from which the Moon's daily position is counted. Check the waxing or waning phase on the Panchang before important beginnings.

Simha Moon Sign (Sun): Lucky Weekday

Leo is ruled by the Sun, so Sunday is your own day. The Moon, Mars and Jupiter are the Sun's friends, which makes Monday, Tuesday and Thursday supportive. Venus and Saturn are the Sun's enemies, so Friday and Saturday are the days for care: they suit routine, service and patient work better than ambitious launches. Wednesday is neutral. Your best days are Sunday and Thursday, with Tuesday good for action. If a Saturday is unavoidable, keep a single clear goal for the day and begin it before mid-morning, away from Rahu Kaal.

Dhanu and Meen Moon Signs (Jupiter): Lucky Weekday

Sagittarius and Pisces Moon signs are ruled by Jupiter, so Thursday is your own day. The Sun, Moon and Mars are Jupiter's friends, so Sunday, Monday and Tuesday support you. Mercury and Venus are Jupiter's enemies, so Wednesday and Friday are the days for care: useful for study and enjoyment, but not for hurried transactions. Saturday is neutral. Your best days are Thursday and Sunday, and Monday is gentle when the Moon is waxing. Pair Thursday with a Jupiter-ruled nakshatra such as Punarvasu, Vishakha or Purva Bhadrapada if you want an extra layer, after checking the tarabala.

Makar and Kumbh Moon Signs (Saturn): Lucky Weekday

Capricorn and Aquarius Moon signs are ruled by Saturn, so Saturday is your own day. Mercury and Venus are Saturn's friends, so Wednesday and Friday support you. The Sun, Moon and Mars are Saturn's enemies, so Sunday, Monday and Tuesday are the days for care: they are fine for ordinary work but heavier for major launches. Thursday is neutral. Your best days are Saturday and Friday, with Wednesday strong for learning and trade. If Saturn is currently transiting near your Moon, read Sade Sati and how to tell if it is running before judging any single day.

Tarabala: The Nine Taras from Your Birth Nakshatra

Tarabala asks whether the Moon's nakshatra today is friendly to your birth nakshatra. Muhurta Chintamani names nine taras counted from the birth star: janma, sampat, vipat, kshema, pratyari, sadhaka, vadha, maitra and atimaitra, each giving results in keeping with its name.[12] Sampat (wealth), kshema (well-being), sadhaka (achievement), maitra (friendly) and atimaitra (very friendly) are supportive; janma is mixed; vipat, pratyari and vadha need care. Brihat Samhita even asks that the hair-cutting rite fall on a favourable star joined with the Moon and an auspicious tara.[5] The Moon takes about a day per nakshatra, so tarabala changes daily.

How to Count Tarabala: Worked Examples

Count from your birth nakshatra to the day's nakshatra, counting both, then divide by nine; the remainder is the tara number, with zero meaning nine. Example one: birth star Rohini (4th), today's star Hasta (13th). Count is 13 minus 4 plus 1, which is 10; the remainder is 1, so it is a janma tara. Example two: birth Rohini, day Pushya (8th). Count is 5, so it is a pratyari tara. Example three: birth Anuradha (17th), day Shravana (22nd). Count is 6, so it is a sadhaka tara. The 27 stars give three cycles of nine, so each tara recurs three times. The Nakshatra Calculator gives your birth star's number.

Vipat, Pratyari and Vadha Tara: Cautions and a Simple Remedy

The third, fifth and seventh taras are the ones traditions advise against for brand-new starts. Muhurta Chintamani itself pairs them with gifts that ease them: gold and sesame for vadha, jaggery for vipat, and salt for pratyari.[13] The verse is terse, and commentators read it across the three nine-star cycles, so a caution on one cycle is not a verdict on the day. A day with a strong weekday and good chandrabala can still be used for routine work. Remedy for a vipat, pratyari or vadha day: What: give one small handful of jaggery (vipat), salt (pratyari) or sesame (vadha) to someone in need or a temple kitchen. When: morning of that day, between sunrise and 10 am. Cost: free to ₹20. How long: that one day only, repeated only when the tara recurs. Why for you: the day's star counts as your 3rd, 5th or 7th from your birth star.

Chandrabala: The Moon's Transit House from Your Moon Sign

Chandrabala counts the Moon's position today from your natal Moon sign. By the tradition used in muhurat practice, the Moon in the 1st, 3rd, 6th, 7th, 10th or 11th house from your Moon sign is supportive, the 2nd, 5th and 9th are middling, and the 4th, 8th and 12th are the weak positions to avoid for fresh starts. The Moon stays about two and a quarter days in a sign, so these spells last two or three days. Muhurta Chintamani adds a way out: a Moon hemmed in by malefics turns poor, but a Moon in a benefic navamsha or aspected by Jupiter turns good.[14] A strong tarabala on a weak chandrabala day also eases it.

Tithi Types: Nanda, Bhadra, Jaya, Rikta and Purna

The fifteen tithis of each fortnight fall into five groups, which Brihat Samhita names nanda, bhadra, vijaya (jaya), rikta and purna.[1] Nanda (1st, 6th, 11th) are joyful starts; bhadra (2nd, 7th, 12th) are steady and nurturing; jaya (3rd, 8th, 13th) favour effort and contests; rikta (4th, 9th, 14th) are empty days, better for closing and clearing; purna (5th, 10th, 15th) are full, favouring completion. Each tithi also has a presiding deity, from Brahma onwards.[2] The text adds that work of a nakshatra also succeeds on tithis, karanas and muhurtas that share its deity.[3] Read both purnima and amavasya in the Purnima guide and the Amavasya guide.

Rikta Tithi, Vishti Karana and Amavasya: Cautions with Their Way Out

Three timing cautions are worth knowing. Brihat Samhita lists the rikta tithi among occasions unsuitable for the hair-cutting rite,[4] says vishti gives nothing auspicious for ordinary works,[19] and for weddings asks to leave out vyatipata, vaidhriti, vishti and rikta.[20] The amavasya is the tithi of the pitaras.[1] None of these is a day to fear. Rikta days suit completing, cleaning, settling accounts and quiet study; amavasya suits remembrance and charity; vishti covers only a few hours inside a tithi, so the panchang window shows you when to pause. Move a fresh start by one day and you have lost nothing. Check the exact windows on the Panchang.

Nakshatra Types: Which Star Days Suit What

Brihat Samhita groups nakshatras by temperament. The dhruva (fixed) stars, Rohini and the three Uttaras, suit lasting beginnings.[6] Laghu stars Hasta, Ashwini and Pushya suit trade, learning, arts and vehicles.[9] Mridu stars Anuradha, Chitra, Revati and Mrigashira suit friendship and gentle undertakings.[10] Krittika and Vishakha are mixed, while Shravana, Dhanishtha, Shatabhisha, Punarvasu and Swati suit movement.[11] Tikshna stars (Mula, Ardra, Jyeshtha, Ashlesha) and ugra stars (the three Purvas, Bharani, Magha) are forceful, so they suit confrontational or separating work rather than gentle starts.[7][8] Gentle start tasks can simply wait for the next star. The Baby Name by Nakshatra tool uses the same star system.

Rahu Kaal and Abhijit: Timing Inside Any Day

Once the day is chosen, pick the hour. Rahu Kaal is about one-eighth of the daytime, roughly 90 minutes, and moves by weekday. On a 6 am to 6 pm day it falls at 7:30-9 on Monday, 3-4:30 on Tuesday, 12-1:30 on Wednesday, 1:30-3 on Thursday, 10:30-12 on Friday, 9-10:30 on Saturday and 4:30-6 on Sunday. Muhurta Chintamani also names weekday-bound inauspicious segments such as yamaghantaka on Sunday and Wednesday and kulika on Monday.[16] Abhijit is a roughly 48-minute window around local noon that tradition treats as broadly favourable. These are windows to avoid starting something new, not whole days. If a task cannot move, begin it just after Rahu Kaal ends. Local sunrise changes the times, so confirm on the Panchang or the Choghadiya guide.

Simple Remedies for a Day That Does Not Suit You

A care day needs a calm approach, not a ritual marathon. Remedy one, day-lord greeting: What: offer a small cup of water to the day-lord at its time and name the lord once. When: the weekday itself, before 10 am (Saturday: at dusk). Cost: free to ₹10. How long: five occurrences of that weekday. Why for you: that day-lord is not a friend of your Moon-sign lord. Remedy two, for a Moon in your 4th, 8th or 12th: What: finish one pending task and postpone one new start. When: from sunrise on the first such day until the Moon leaves that sign. Cost: free. How long: about two days each time. Why for you: chandrabala is low and finishing uses that energy well. The tarabala remedy sits in its own section. If you suspect a weak planet, start with the Weak Planet Finder.

Common Mistakes When Choosing a Lucky Day

Five mistakes recur. First, using the Sun sign from a newspaper column instead of your Moon sign; the Naam Rashi and numerology guide explains the difference between name and janma rashi. Second, ignoring the lagna; the lagna guide shows how to find it. Third, treating Rahu Kaal as a banned day rather than a short window. Fourth, copying a friend's lucky day when you share a weekday but not a Moon sign. Fifth, using a lucky day for an event that needs a real muhurat. If you also search for lucky colours or numbers, those are a separate layer, covered in the 2027 lucky colour guide.

How to Check Your Lucky Day Free With the Calculator

Enter your date, time and place of birth in the Lucky Day Calculator. The tool works out your Moon sign and birth nakshatra from Swiss Ephemeris positions and returns your supportive weekdays, tarabala and chandrabala for the coming days, so you do not have to count by hand. If you want to see the chart behind the answer, open it in the Janam Kundali Calculator or confirm the rising sign in the Lagna Calculator. For a dated event such as a wedding, vehicle or joining day, continue to the Shubh Muhurat Calculator, which adds tithi, yoga and lagna screening.

When a Lucky Day Is Not Enough: Dasha, Sade Sati and Planet Strength

A lucky day tilts the day; your running period tilts the year. If a weekday is favourable but your current dasha is demanding, treat the day as support rather than a cure. Check your period in the Dasha Calculator and read the Mahadasha guide. Planet strength is its own layer; see Shadbala and the Shadbala explainer. Gemstones are the last step, not the first: check the Gemstone Suitability Calculator and read why strong planets do not need gemstones and why a wrong gemstone can harm before buying anything. Frequently Asked Questions

Which day is lucky for me according to Vedic astrology?

It is the weekday whose lord is friendly to the lord of your Moon sign, on a supportive tithi, with good tarabala and chandrabala. Find your Moon sign and birth star, then use the [Lucky Day Calculator](/calculators/free-lucky-day-calculator) to match them to the calendar.

How do I find my lucky weekday from my Moon sign?

Find your Moon sign, note its ruling planet, and then see which weekday lords are its friends. For Aries and Scorpio, Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday support you; for Leo, Sunday, Thursday and Tuesday. The family-wise sections above list all twelve signs.

Is the weekday I was born on my lucky day?

It is a reasonable personal anchor but not a rule. Trust the friendship test between the day-lord and your Moon-sign lord first, then treat your birth weekday as a bonus when the two agree.

What is tarabala and how do I calculate it?

Tarabala compares the Moon's nakshatra today with your birth nakshatra. Count from your birth star to today's star inclusive, divide by nine, and read the remainder: 1 janma, 2 sampat, 3 vipat, 4 kshema, 5 pratyari, 6 sadhaka, 7 vadha, 8 maitra, 9 atimaitra. The [Nakshatra Calculator](/calculators/free-nakshatra-calculator) gives your birth star.

What is chandrabala?

Chandrabala is the Moon's strength for you, judged by the house the Moon occupies from your Moon sign. The 1st, 3rd, 6th, 7th, 10th and 11th are supportive, the 2nd, 5th and 9th middling, and the 4th, 8th and 12th weak, which lasts only two or three days at a time.

Which tithis are rikta and should I avoid them?

Rikta tithis are the 4th, 9th and 14th of each fortnight. They are poor for fresh starts such as ceremonies but good for closing tasks, cleaning and settling accounts, so there is no need to avoid the whole day.

Is Saturday an unlucky day?

No. Saturday belongs to Saturn, a planet of discipline and patience. It suits Capricorn, Aquarius, Taurus and Libra Moon signs best, is neutral for most others and asks for care from Leo. Keep one clear goal on a heavy Saturday and it works well.

Is a lucky day the same as a muhurat?

No. A lucky day is a personal weekday and Moon pattern, while a muhurat is a window for a specific event. For a wedding, vehicle or job start, use the [Shubh Muhurat Calculator](/calculators/free-shubh-muhurat-calculator) and read the [muhurat guide](/blog/shubh-muhurat-calculator-guide).

Does my lucky day change with time?

Your Moon-sign friendship pattern stays fixed for life, but tarabala and chandrabala change daily, and your dasha and transits change the background. Recheck the calendar, and see the [Dasha Calculator](/calculators/free-dasha-calculator) for your running period.

What do I need for an accurate lucky day result?

You need your date, exact time and place of birth. A time that is off by hours can shift your nakshatra, so confirm the record first; the [birth time accuracy guide](/blog/birth-time-accuracy-kundli-rectification) explains how.
